Volutourism in Thailand

Early this year I went to Thailand with 0 expectations and this trip change my life. I went there to do volunteer in a school, and I did, the best experience of my life because I had the chance to help little children. But besides volunteer in that school I also visit the best places I’ve ever been to.

The school I teach English in is located in Chiang Rai which is a sleepy provincial town, the most beautiful town I’ve ever had the chance to be in. Volunteering is the best thing ever, in my case I help children that without us wouldn’t learn how to speak and write in English, I remember how happy they were to see a notebook and a pen for itch one of them, for us is nothing but for them was everything and this trip help me to understand how fortitude I am. When I went to say my goodbyes they read a text written by them thanking me, 10 year old kids with 3 weeks of English, for me was the best thing ever I cried like a baby because when I got there they knew how to say hello and goodbye bad and 3 weeks later that.

We stayed in a tiny house in the centre of the town with a lot of character and that was the reason why I started to volunteerism, after school we would all visit the town, Chiang Rai Clock tower, Wat Klang Wieng, Mae Fah Luang Art & Cultural Park, etc. And that was what we did for the whole trip, volunteering by day and tourism at night. One day a farmer asked us if we wanted to go to Chiang Mai another small town close to Chiang Rai we thought and so we went. When we got there the farmer gave us a map, beware this was the moment when we realised that we were in the second largest city in Thailand, and told us that 3 hours later he would leave from that place so during that 3 hours we were tourists. We went there 3 days and visited the main attractions like Doi Suthep, a night Safari, Elephant Jungle sanctuary and the most beautiful ever the Chiang Mai Light Festival.

The trip was awesome and the only thing I didn’t like very much was the food because they eat a lot of insects and stuff like that and I tried but no that was discussing. This 3 weeks changed the way I look at life and I advise everyone that has the chance to do something like that.
